Hitachi Joins the HDBaseT Alliance, Unveils Its First HDBaseT-Enabled Projector

Hitachi today at InfoComm 2013 made its first announcement as a member of the HDBaseT Alliance, releasing its new commercial HDBaseT-enabled projector Hitachi today at InfoComm 2013 made its first announcement as a member of the HDBaseT Alliance, releasing its new commercial HDBaseT-enabled projector. The Hitachi CP-WU9410 projector is on display at the HDBaseT Alliance booth (#2889).

Hitachi is one of the latest global manufacturers of consumer and commercial AV components to join the HDBaseT Alliance, a consortium of companies that works to promote and standardize HDBaseT technology. Powered by the Valens HDBaseT chipset, HDBaseT enables whole-home and commercial distribution of uncompressed HD multimedia content over a single CAT5e/6 cable.

"HDBaseT is unique in its ability to provide professional installers with a much simpler and more cost-effective way to transmit uncompressed HD video up to 100 meters," said Tatsuro Nakamura, Engineering Manager, Hitachi. "We're increasingly hearing from our professional customers that they want to leverage HDBaseT end-to-end. Joining the HDBaseT Alliance enables us to provide our customers with the HDBaseT technology that will help them to realize significant time and labor cost savings."

"Hitachi brings its expertise and worldwide reputation for excellence to the HDBaseT Alliance, and adds a new projector to the ever-growing HDBaseT product ecosystem," said Micha Risling, marketing chair of the HDBaseT Alliance. "The HDBaseT Alliance has grown to more than 60 members, and now professionals can select from more end-to-end solutions that allow them to apply HDBaseT from source, through routing and distribution and to the display."

The Hitachi CP-WU9410 dual lamp projector features 1-chip DLP, 8500 lumens, a WUXGA 1920 x 1200 resolution and four digital inputs (HDBaseT, HDMI x2, DVI-D x1).
