Optoma launches two new high brightness 4K Ultra HD projectors – 4K550 and 4K550ST

Optoma has just announced two new high brightness 4K Ultra HD professional installation projectors – the 4K550 and 4K550ST. The new models deliver impressive 4K UHD images at 5000 and 4500 lumens respectively with the short throw lens of the 4K550ST providing stunning image performance from as little as half a metre away. Designed for meeting rooms, simulators and the corporate sector, as well as for CAD and architectural drawings where brighter, higher quality imagery and complex detail is needed, these projectors enable unscaled 4K UHD imagery.

Philip Watt, Commercial Product Manager at Optoma Europe, commented: "Optoma is the number-one selling 4K UHD projector brand worldwide*. We're excited to build on the success of our 4K UHD home projection range with the launch of our first 4K UHD professional installation models – the 4K550 and 4K550ST.

"These new models bring the benefits of high brightness 4K Ultra HD and short throw to any professional installation or business presentation. With four times the resolution of 1080p and true to life colour reproduction, these new models offer maximum clarity when displaying text and graphics."

Featuring an advanced DLP single-chip design from Texas Instruments, 8.3 million pixels are delivered to the screen without the alignment issues found in some other technologies - ensuring absolute image integrity.

In addition to UHD 4K resolution, both models offer High Dynamic Range (HDR) compatibility, and the HDR10 open standard specifically, which means everything from streaming 4K content to game consoles is supported.

The 4K550 features a 1.6x zoom projection lens and both projectors feature vertical lens shift for a quick and accurate installation – without the need for costly interchangeable lenses. RS232C and LAN connectivity enable simple integration and control via industry standards, including Crestron, IP Link, AMX and PJ-Link.

Optoma launches UHL55 smart 4K UHD LED home projector

Optoma has just launched a feature-packed portable 4K UHD LED projector - the UHL55. The new model delivers the ultimate in smart home entertainment with impressive 4K UHD cinema quality images and support for Alexa voice control. Small and light enough to move from room to room, this new projector has everything in one box including integrated speakers and a host of connection options such as WiFi, Bluetooth, HDMI and MHL. Bluetooth functionality means external speakers, headphones or a keyboard and mouse can be connected cable-free. It can even play content directly from a USB memory stick via its 4K UHD media player.

Kishan Mistry, Product Manager at Optoma said: "The new UHL55 is a great all-rounder, combining impressive 4K UHD cinema quality images, easy set-up, instant on/off, Alexa voice control and integrated speakers in a compact chassis for the ultimate smart home experience.

"A huge advantage of this new projector is that it uses the latest LED technology, which offers consistent brightness and colour performance, maintaining its out-of-the-box image quality throughout its lifetime. The perceived brightness from the UHL55 can be twice that of an equivalent lamp-based projector. This means it can comfortably handle low levels of ambient light with less impact on image quality than traditional lamp-based systems. It also has a light source lifetime of up to 30,000 hours."

Set-up is simple with auto focus and auto keystone for fuss free positioning and a host of connection options such as two HDMI 2.0 ports. The compact UHL55 is also lightweight and easy to move around.

Packed with the latest technology and features, it boasts High Dynamic Range (HDR) compatibility, HDCP 2.2 support and PureMotion frame-interpolation technology to produce stand-out images. This advanced processing eliminates motion blur or image judder, even in high-speed action films or fast-paced sports.

Capable of decoding Dolby 5.1, its built-in stereo speakers deliver rich, clear and powerful sound with superior bass performance. It even supports pass through via S/PDIF out port for connection to an external surround sound system.

LED technology delivers 118% Rec.709 for accurate, true to life colour rendition - perfect for recreating the big-screen experience at home.

Optoma to unveil new range of interactive flat panel displays at ISE

Optoma, a market leader in audiovisual solutions, today announced it will unveil a new range of interactive flat panel displays (IFPDs) at ISE 2019. Thierry Millet, Optoma EMEA Managing Director said: "Optoma is no longer just a projection company – we are in the business of big imagery - whether that is projection, LED displays or the soon to be launched large format displays. "We are responding to our customers' demand for a whole range of display products that suit all situations. Projection remains the most cost effective and simplest way to attain a large display image, especially if high resolution is required. It can also accommodate more complex and creative installations such as projection mapping and edge blending.

"But if there is too much ambient light, even for a high brightness laser projector, a large format display or indeed an LED display may be a better solution. Our customers know that we supply high quality, reliable products. So whatever the brief, Optoma will have the solution."

The new Creative Touch IFPD series will be available in 65, 75 and 86 formats and will have extensive connectivity with versatile plug and play compatibility with Windows, Mac and Chrome OS devices. They will offer wireless content sharing via iMirror and ScreenShare to encourage bring your own device (BYOD) collaboration.

The IFPD will be available to the EMEA market from Q1 2019.
