Optoma WU1500 WUXGA projector is designed to deliver exceptional quality with ultimate ProAV durability

Optoma, a world leading manufacturer of video and audio products, today announced its high brightness WU1500 Large Venue projector, designed specifically for demanding professional applications, is now available for purchase through authorized distributors and dealers. Offering superb image quality with flexible and reliable projection, it is ideal for everything from auditoriums and houses of worship, to stage shows and theatres.

The Optoma WU1500 is a dual-lamp WUXGA projector built to deliver bright and colorful content in high-demand installs – featuring 12,000 lumens and continuous 24/7 operation capability. Its dual lamps can be operated simultaneously to deliver maximum brightness, or venues can leverage its lamp relay function to alternate between the two lamps, effectively doubling lamp replacement time.

With an emphasis on flexibility, six optional lenses utilizing low dispersion (LD) glass ensure perfect focus with minimal drop in brightness, even over long throw distances. The lens options, including short throw, wide zoom, standard throw and long throw, all have motorized shift, zoom and focus mechanisms for easy and accurate adjustment after initial installation. Color flare and chromatic aberration are negligible, resulting in the best possible image quality.

In addition, WU1500's image processor includes picture-by-picture and picture-in-picture capabilities, allowing simultaneous display of images from two separate sources, as well as built-in image blending and warping technology – making it ideal for complex multi-projector environments. It supports full 360-degree operation, enabling floor to ceiling projection, and can operate in portrait mode, increasing the scope of abnormal installation possibilities.

Key Features of the WU1500 include:
•Resolution: WUXGA (1920 x 1200)
•Brightness: 12,000 lumens
•Contrast Ratio: 5,000:1
•Six lens options, with throw ratios from short TR (0.84:1) to extra-long TR (7.2:1)
•Motorized full lens shift, zoom and focus
•Dual 465W lamps with relay function
•24/7 operation with portrait mode 360-degree horizontal axis operation
•HDMI, DVI-D, 5 BNC, HDBaseT and 3G-SDI inputs
•360-degree operation with portrait mode
•Built in blending and warping

"The Optoma WU1500 is an important new addition to the high resolution installation projector market," said Robert Sterzing, president, Optoma Technology. "Not only does it offer a substantial increase in brightness, it includes new features that our customers have been asking for, such as HDBaseT connectivity and all-new lens options. It truly raises the bar for performance, quality and reliability."

For situations where total blackout is required, the WU1500 features a mechanical shutter, making it perfect for stage shows and live events. It is fully compatible with Crestron, Extron, AMX and PJLink protocols, allowing comprehensive network control.

The WU1500 is available for an estimated end user price of $21,999 through Optoma ProScene authorized dealers and distributors, including AVI-SPL, CCS, Dobbs Stanford, Full Compass, IAVI and Stampede Presentation Products.
