The SOLID SHINE laser projectors create exhilarating 30,000 lm projections at up to 4K resolution from a super light and compact design, bringing higher brightness and on-site efficiency for the events industry Panasonic has unveiled its new 3-Chip DLP™ laser projector line-up at ISE 2020. The SOLID SHINE laser projectors create exhilarating 30,000 lm[1] projections at up to 4K resolution from a super light and compact design, bringing higher brightness and on-site efficiency for the events industry. The PT-RQ35K (4K) and PT-RZ34K (WUXGA) pack high brightness and improved colour into a surprisingly compact and light body design and transform existing workflow procedures with faster and easier projector installation for live events in stadiums, theatres, and for projection mapping onto various surfaces.
"Audiences are increasingly demanding more immersive environments beyond the capabilities of traditional projection and as output, resolution, and the number of units required rises, so too has set-up complexity," said Hartmut Kulessa, European Marketing Manager at Panasonic Business. "The RQ35K Series overcomes these difficulties with powerful projection and versatile functionality alongside easier transportation and set-up – all backed by our market-leading reliability."
Versatile Functions Streamline set-up
The RQ35K Series delivers 30,000 lm brightness and superb image quality from a body size just 60% of the current PT-RQ32K projector, significantly reducing logistical hassle. To further speed set-up, the RQ35K Series includes all of the streamlining features developed for Panasonic's RQ50K flagship projector. Near Field Communication (NFC*6) function enables easy network setup, such as IP address configuration, just by holding a mobile device with an application installed against the projector's touchpoint. Information Monitor displays errors in real-time for faster response, while Remote Preview lets the operator check playback content on a PC via a network in situations where actual image projection is difficult, such as during the set-up preparation phase.
Immersive, Colour-Rich Images
The RQ35K produces brilliant 30,000 lm images at 4K (3840 x 2400) resolution with Quad Pixel Drive, a Panasonic-original 2-Axis Pixel-Shifting technology that creates clear and detailed images without visible pixels. An all-new laser engine expands colour-gamut to 114 %[2] of Panasonic's current RQ32K projector, pulling audiences into the artist's world. With one red and two blue lasers emitting light at different wavelengths, vivid reds and truer blues come together for more immersive colour expression, creating a heightened sense of realism.
Alongside Quad Pixel Drive, the RQ35K supports high-speed tracking with original technology that accepts and outputs 240 Hz frame-rate signals with limited latency. Combined with its compact body, both projectors redefine experiential projection in entertainment.
Newly Refined Cooling System
To maintain stable operation in a projector of this size and brightness, original cooling technologies have been further improved. Dynamic Digital Control counters red-laser sensitivity to temperature by digitally regulating light output and operating parameters of a dedicated cooling system, resulting in highly consistent image quality. The exclusive finless radiator enhances cooling efficiency over previous implementations, assuring superb reliability even within the confines of a compact body. To make brightness loss imperceptible in the event of laser-diode failure, Failover Circuitry bypasses one diode series rather than the whole module. Backup input-switching function[3] continues projection via backup signal without screen-blanking if the primary video signal fails.
Equipped with premium optical parts such as hermetically sealed DMD block and shielded laser drive, the RQ35K Series secures 20,000-hour[4] maintenance-free operation thanks to its filterless design. With these groundbreaking innovations building on a proven foundation of SOLID SHINE Laser technologies, consistent reliability is secured for uninterrupted projection.
The PT-RQ35K and PT-RZ34K (WUXGA) Series are available from November 2020. For more information, please visit Booth 1-H20, Hall 1, ISE2020, Amsterdam RAI, February 11–14, or visit https://business.panasonic.eu/ISE2020 or https://business.panasonic.co.uk/visual-system/

Series 4 is designed with both exhibitors and audiences in mind, building on Barco's heritage in cinema projection. Cinionic market experts and Barco's R&D team spent several years working directly with its customers and other industry partners, to solve the challenges they are facing in today's cinema landscape.
Innovative technologies for a next generation projector
With this knowledge of the market, the team has worked diligently the last several years to deliver a next generation projector family including the latest technologies as well as the outcomes of advanced value engineering and platform modularity practices.

Google Assistant and IFTTT join Alexa on Optomas smart 4K UHD home projectors
Google Assistant can now be used in the UK on Optoma's smart 4K UHD home projectors - UHL55, UHD51A and UHD51ALVe, and will be available on the forthcoming UHZ65UST ultra short throw laser 4K UHD projector, due to launch this summer. In addition, these projectors are also now compatible with IFTTT. IFTTT (If This Then That) is a free web-based service that allows users to create chains of simple conditional statements, called applets. Applets are used to trigger events such as getting a projector to turn off when you leave the house or dimming lights when the projector is switched on.
Kishan Mistry, Product Manager at Optoma, said: "Consumers are increasingly integrating voice assistants into their daily routines, as well as expecting the convenience of smart home integration with their devices and electronics, so it was important for us to align our new home cinema projectors with these growing consumer needs."
These projectors already had Amazon Alexa compatibility but users can now also control these with voice commands via Google Assistant in conjunction with a Google home device or Android smartphone. As voice assistants continue to expand their presence and function in smart homes, Optoma is enabling home cinema enthusiasts to integrate large-screen imagery into smart homes, tying in with speakers, screens, lighting and more.
Like Amazon Alexa voice control, users need to connect the projector to a WiFi network and register the projector within the Optoma MyDevices Account to pair the device with Google Assistant. A dedicated set up guide for both Alexa and Google Assistant is downloadable from the product page on Optoma's website.
As well as turning on/off, switching source input, altering the sound output and controlling the inbuilt media player, Google Assistant can also select the various display modes and HDR picture modes, as well as selecting PureMotion options.
A full specification sheet for Optoma's 4K UHD projectors are available from www.optoma.co.uk

Panasonic Launches Worlds Smallest 6000 Lumens Laser Portable Projector Range
Panasonic has announced the launch of a portable LCD laser projector range with the smallest and lightest dimensions in its lumens' class. Weighing in at just 7.2kg, the VMZ60 and VMZ50 portable series feature five new models in WUXGA (PT-VMZ60, PT-VMZ50, PT-VMZ40) and WXGA (PT-VMW60, PT-VMW50). The light weight, compact design makes the projectors well suited for transportation between collaborative environments in corporate and education spaces.
Aimed at those looking to affordably transition from lamp to laser with simple screen projection settings, the range features 4,500-6,000 lumens brightness, enabling bright, sharp images with high colour accuracy for engaging images.
Available from March 2019 (VMZ50) and June 2019 (VMZ60), both series promise 20,000 hours of maintenance free operation, due to new cooling technology, refined from our higher brightness range.
The projectors feature a 1.6x zoom lens for short throw-distances, as well as a wide V/H lens-shift. This enhances their flexibility making them ideal for use in small classrooms, meeting rooms, and limited spaces.
4 models are compatible with DIGITAL LINK™, for the simultaneous transmission of video, audio, and control signals through a single LAN cable across distances of up to 150m. Other features include a USB Memory Viewer function, and the potential to bring your own device when opting for the projector's wireless module. This feature allows visitors to connect to the projector via an app and share information and documents regardless of seating location and without any cable hassle.
All projectors also support 4K and 30p signal input, making the range a futureproofed solution to projecting the latest image quality and content.
"Our customers have been asking for an LCD laser solution, for end users whose budget won't stretch to our superior 1-chip DLP™ range," said Hartmut Kulessa, European Marketing Manager at Panasonic. "What we've developed is industry leading in terms of its size, weight and reliability – so these projectors are bound to be incredibly well received."

Schools, colleges and businesses now have an even greater choice of short and ultra short throw projectors with the launch of Optoma's new laser projectors. The short throw models ZW310STe and ZX310STe can project a super-sized 100-inch picture on a screen or wall from just over a metre away while the ultra short throw ZW300USTe and its interactive sibling ZW300USTie can beam 100" imagery from just 55cm. This makes them perfect for classrooms, small meeting rooms or training rooms and guarantee no shadows cast by presenters across the imagery.
Powered by a long-lasting, low maintenance laser light source with an expected lifetime of 20,000 hours at full brightness, the new models offer a cost-effective solution to businesses, schools and colleges.
The four powerful projectors can be used with the lights on and boast a brightness of 3600 (ZW310STe) and 3500 ANSI lumens (ZX310Ste, ZW300USTe and ZW300USTie).
They can be managed and monitored easily over a network via the RJ45. Compatible Crestron RoomView® software can be used to power on/off, monitor, manage and control up to 250 projectors at the same time from any computer. This allows IT technicians to monitor and turn off the projectors remotely.

Optoma launches two new high brightness 4K Ultra HD projectors 4K550 and 4K550ST
Optoma has just announced two new high brightness 4K Ultra HD professional installation projectors – the 4K550 and 4K550ST. The new models deliver impressive 4K UHD images at 5000 and 4500 lumens respectively with the short throw lens of the 4K550ST providing stunning image performance from as little as half a metre away. Designed for meeting rooms, simulators and the corporate sector, as well as for CAD and architectural drawings where brighter, higher quality imagery and complex detail is needed, these projectors enable unscaled 4K UHD imagery.
Philip Watt, Commercial Product Manager at Optoma Europe, commented: "Optoma is the number-one selling 4K UHD projector brand worldwide*. We're excited to build on the success of our 4K UHD home projection range with the launch of our first 4K UHD professional installation models – the 4K550 and 4K550ST.
"These new models bring the benefits of high brightness 4K Ultra HD and short throw to any professional installation or business presentation. With four times the resolution of 1080p and true to life colour reproduction, these new models offer maximum clarity when displaying text and graphics."
Featuring an advanced DLP single-chip design from Texas Instruments, 8.3 million pixels are delivered to the screen without the alignment issues found in some other technologies - ensuring absolute image integrity.
In addition to UHD 4K resolution, both models offer High Dynamic Range (HDR) compatibility, and the HDR10 open standard specifically, which means everything from streaming 4K content to game consoles is supported.
The 4K550 features a 1.6x zoom projection lens and both projectors feature vertical lens shift for a quick and accurate installation – without the need for costly interchangeable lenses. RS232C and LAN connectivity enable simple integration and control via industry standards, including Crestron, IP Link, AMX and PJ-Link.

Optoma launches UHL55 smart 4K UHD LED home projector
Optoma has just launched a feature-packed portable 4K UHD LED projector - the UHL55. The new model delivers the ultimate in smart home entertainment with impressive 4K UHD cinema quality images and support for Alexa voice control. Small and light enough to move from room to room, this new projector has everything in one box including integrated speakers and a host of connection options such as WiFi, Bluetooth, HDMI and MHL. Bluetooth functionality means external speakers, headphones or a keyboard and mouse can be connected cable-free. It can even play content directly from a USB memory stick via its 4K UHD media player.
Kishan Mistry, Product Manager at Optoma said: "The new UHL55 is a great all-rounder, combining impressive 4K UHD cinema quality images, easy set-up, instant on/off, Alexa voice control and integrated speakers in a compact chassis for the ultimate smart home experience.
"A huge advantage of this new projector is that it uses the latest LED technology, which offers consistent brightness and colour performance, maintaining its out-of-the-box image quality throughout its lifetime. The perceived brightness from the UHL55 can be twice that of an equivalent lamp-based projector. This means it can comfortably handle low levels of ambient light with less impact on image quality than traditional lamp-based systems. It also has a light source lifetime of up to 30,000 hours."
Set-up is simple with auto focus and auto keystone for fuss free positioning and a host of connection options such as two HDMI 2.0 ports. The compact UHL55 is also lightweight and easy to move around.
Packed with the latest technology and features, it boasts High Dynamic Range (HDR) compatibility, HDCP 2.2 support and PureMotion frame-interpolation technology to produce stand-out images. This advanced processing eliminates motion blur or image judder, even in high-speed action films or fast-paced sports.
Capable of decoding Dolby 5.1, its built-in stereo speakers deliver rich, clear and powerful sound with superior bass performance. It even supports pass through via S/PDIF out port for connection to an external surround sound system.
LED technology delivers 118% Rec.709 for accurate, true to life colour rendition - perfect for recreating the big-screen experience at home.

Optoma to unveil new range of interactive flat panel displays at ISE
Optoma, a market leader in audiovisual solutions, today announced it will unveil a new range of interactive flat panel displays (IFPDs) at ISE 2019. Thierry Millet, Optoma EMEA Managing Director said: "Optoma is no longer just a projection company – we are in the business of big imagery - whether that is projection, LED displays or the soon to be launched large format displays. "We are responding to our customers' demand for a whole range of display products that suit all situations. Projection remains the most cost effective and simplest way to attain a large display image, especially if high resolution is required. It can also accommodate more complex and creative installations such as projection mapping and edge blending.
"But if there is too much ambient light, even for a high brightness laser projector, a large format display or indeed an LED display may be a better solution. Our customers know that we supply high quality, reliable products. So whatever the brief, Optoma will have the solution."
The new Creative Touch IFPD series will be available in 65, 75 and 86 formats and will have extensive connectivity with versatile plug and play compatibility with Windows, Mac and Chrome OS devices. They will offer wireless content sharing via iMirror and ScreenShare to encourage bring your own device (BYOD) collaboration.
The IFPD will be available to the EMEA market from Q1 2019.

Optoma unveils next evolution ultra short throw home projector
For those who love gaming or watching TV, sports or films on a big screen, Optoma has unveiled the HD31UST which can project a 100" image from just 30cm away without the hassle of shadows or cables running across the room.
The next evolution of the popular GT5000+ ultra short throw projector, the HD31UST is smaller and lighter than its predecessor. This 3,400-lumens Full HD 1080p projector can beam razor sharp images with optimum colour performance even with the lights on.
The new model comes with the added benefit of vertical and horizontal keystone and four corner geometric adjustment. This gives quick and accurate set-up, ideal for uneven walls or where a projector placement is at an angle from the screen. In addition, when the projector is not centred directly in front of the projection surface, the auto vertical keystone feature will detect and correct the distorted image with the touch of a button.
Kishan Mistry, Senior Product Manager at Optoma EMEA, said: "The unrivalled set-up convenience of our high brightness, ultra-short throw HD31UST creates an exceptional 100-inch Full HD experience that can be placed directly in front of a wall or screen for permanent use, tidied away after occasional use or taken around to a friend's house."
Its crisp white colour fits perfectly into any living space and it comes equipped with a built-in speaker that delivers powerful 16W audio, with exceptional sound quality. An audio output connector is also included, enabling connection to external sound systems.
Set-up is simple with a host of connection options including two HDMI and two VGA inputs for connection to any device. This projector also works with Optoma's WHD200 which is designed to stream video content wirelessly - up to 20 metres in any room.
It can be turned into a smart projector by connecting an HDMI dongle like the Google Chromecast™, Amazon Fire™ or Apple TV™ to play games, stream videos and share photos on the big screen at home.
The HD31UST can display true 3D content from almost any 3D source, including 3D Blu-ray players, 3D broadcasting and the latest generation games consoles. For 3D viewing, the Optoma ZD302 glasses (sold separately) use DLP® Link™ active shutter technology to automatically sync with the on-screen image.

Acer Announces Laser Projectors for Demanding Commercial and Educational Applications
Acer today announced its new PL and SL series projectors—the Acer PL6610 (WUXGA), PL6510 (1080p), SL6610 (WUXGA) and the SL6510 (1080p)—powered by laser light sources, with the SL series offering short throw projection in tight spaces such as classrooms, and the PL series for customers who are less space conscious. Designed for customers looking for a reliable, low maintenance projector solution, they are optimized for large venues and demanding commercial and educational applications. Laser Light Source
The Acer PL and SL series projectors offer stunning picture quality, life-like colors, and incredible efficiency thanks to the innovative laser diode. Beyond picture quality, the PL and SL projectors' laser diodes have a lifespan of up to 30,000 hours, lasting far longer than traditional projector lamps. With no lamp to burn out, it greatly reduces lamp replacement costs and hassle. Aside from being more durable, it turns on and off almost instantly, saving customers time. The laser light engine is also mercury-free, eliminating the potential pollution from mercury lamp disposal and making it the environmentally friendly choice.
Intense Brightness and Colors that Last
At a brightness of 5,000 lumens, the Acer PL and SL series projectors keep images sharp and clear in the daylight, from a distance, or while projecting inside a large venue. With projection this crisp and bright, even the finest details will be clearly visible to audiences. The laser light source lets viewers enjoy outstanding color performance with 75% NTSC wide color gamut, creating vibrant visuals and delivering consistent color saturation.
Up Close and Personal
The Acer PL and SL series projectors offer 1.6X zoom for a wide range of throw distances. The normal lens (PL series) and short throw lens (SL series) options enhance installation flexibility and diversify placement options. Without the need to move furniture or damage infrastructure with wall mounts and other installation procedures, users can easily turn any space into a cinema or presentation venue. Two built-in 10W speakers provide powerful sound, eliminating the need for external speakers.
Single-cable Installation with HDBaseT and Control over LAN
The PL6610 is compatible with HDBaseT input, a standard that uses a single cable to send and receive audio and video, Ethernet, controls, and power, thereby eliminating clutter, simplifying installation and reducing infrastructure costs. The signal can be transmitted through a single LAN cable for up to 100 m/328 ft. The PL and SL series projectors are compatible with the Crestron® Network System so users can centrally control many projectors within one PC, useful for operations such as turning off all projectors in different classrooms at the same time.
Pricing and Availability
Exact specifications, prices, and availability will vary by region. To find out about availability, product specifications and prices in specific markets, please contact your nearest Acer office or retailer via www.acer.com.
The new PL and SL series projectors were unveiled today at the next@acer press event held at IFA in Berlin, where the company announced a range of new devices and solutions for gamers, creators, families, students and professionals. For more information, visit www.acer.com/nextatacer.

Panasonic set to sponsor World Masters of Projection Mapping at ISE 18
Panasonic's newly launched 20,000 lumen PT-RZ21K laser projector will help light up the inaugural World Master of Projection Mapping championship, which culminates during ISE 2018. Amsterdam's Light Festival has joined forces with ISE and RAI Amsterdam to stage the competition, which runs from 14th January to 9th February 2018, and will see video artwork projected onto the imposing façade of the EYE Filmmuseum. Local technical support and installation will be provided by BeamSystems.
The five artists participating in the event will be responding to a shared theme, Bridging The Gap. A unique challenge for the artists includes two water screens each 40x15 meters in diameter. The water projection adds a dynamic and theatrical element to the challenge, creating a three dimensional and dual layered 'stage'.
Panasonic is a platinum sponsor of ISE, and will provide the projection equipment for the event. A combination of the PT-RZ21K and 30,000 lumens PT-RZ31K will be used for the competition. Both are specifically designed for live entertainment and staging applications and offer 20,000 hours of maintenance free operation.
Featuring a dual-laser 3-Chip DLPTM light source, the projectors have built-in redundancy, providing uninterrupted projection to ensure the show goes on should a laser diode fail – making them perfect for high-profile events.
A final showcase will be held on February 8th 2018 when the judges will decide on the overall winner, set to be announced on February 9th, the final day of ISE '18.
"We are incredibly excited to be a part of the inaugural World Masters of Projection Mapping, and to witness first-hand the creations these artists are going to project onto one of Amsterdam's most iconic buildings, using our industry leading technology," said Jan Markus Jahn, Director of Panasonic Visual System Solutions.
