InFocus simplifies off-site presentations with compact LightPro IN1146 projector

Novel new InFocus IN1146 mobile LED projector is size of a paperback book PORTLAND, Ore. — January 7, 2013 — InFocus Corp. (www.infocus.com), the visual communications industry pioneer and digital display technologies expert, is making life a little easier for the on-the-go business person with its two-pound, seven-inch InFocus LightPro IN1146 mobile light-emitting-diode (LED) projector that fits easily in a bag or carry-on.

"Sometimes it can be a challenge for business people to travel with all their presentation gear and then when they arrive there's the set-up, which can be tricky; we made the IN1146 for them," said InFocus product manager Benjamin Joy. "Not only is it really convenient to take with you given its size and weight, but it turns on and off instantly without any warm-up or cool-down time. It's also quick to connect and display content from laptops, tablets and smartphones, using HDMI and VGA hookups, or USB and SD card slots, or wirelessly using a USB WiFi adapter."

The LED in the LightPro IN1146 delivers 800 lumens of brightness and a 10,000:1 contrast ratio that shows detailed images and vivid colors; even subtle color differences. It is also rated for up to 30,000 hours of use. This means, if it were on for four hours a day, five days a week for 50 weeks, it would last about 12 years.

The lamp-less IN1146 features built-in stereo speakers, a compact remote control, 3.5 mm ports for composite video or stereo audio in and stereo out, and automatic keystone correction to keep the image square. Its native resolution is 1280 x 800 so it can display widescreen content without scaling.

"It doesn't get simpler than plugging in a paperback book-sized machine, flipping the on switch and inserting a USB drive with your file on it," said Joy. "You can be up and presenting in under a minute and in business, where time is money, that's a real plus. And with a modest purchase price and no lamp-replacement costs, it's is a great choice for organizations on tight budgets."
