Optoma's first 4K Ultra HD projector to feature Amazon Alexa voice control – the UHD51A – is now launched in the UK. Available on Amazon UK for £1,549.99, the new projector offers the ultimate smart home entertainment solution with intuitive control along with 4K crystal clear detail in every image – bringing content to life on the big screen.
Optoma is excited to be among the first brands to bring Alexa natively to 4K home entertainment projectors, said Kishan Mistry, Senior Product Manager at Optoma EMEA. With industry-leading projection technology coupled with Alexa, we're enabling instant control for a movie or gaming session as users switch inputs, launch content, adjust the volume and more with their voice."
In addition to Alexa support, the UHD51A comes equipped with a 4K UHD media player, a wireless USB dongle, USB reader and 2,400 lumens for vibrant big-screen entertainment. It boasts High Dynamic Range (HDR) compatibility, HDCP 2.2 support and includes stereo speakers that provide powerful audio.
Installation is simple with vertical lens shift for fuss free positioning and a host of connection options such as two HDMI 2.0 ports. The compact UHD51A with its stylish sleek black casing is also lightweight and easy to move around.
With full 8.3 million on-screen pixels, the new model meet the Consumer Technology Association (CTA) requirements for 4K UHD and comply with the CTA High Dynamic Range (HDR) compatible display standards. This guarantees razor sharp, vivid images capable of showing more details than standard HD.
Its sophisticated PureMotion frame-interpolation technology eliminates motion blur or image judder, even in high-speed action films or fast-paced sports.

Optoma unveils next evolution ultra short throw home projector
For those who love gaming or watching TV, sports or films on a big screen, Optoma has unveiled the HD31UST which can project a 100" image from just 30cm away without the hassle of shadows or cables running across the room.
The next evolution of the popular GT5000+ ultra short throw projector, the HD31UST is smaller and lighter than its predecessor. This 3,400-lumens Full HD 1080p projector can beam razor sharp images with optimum colour performance even with the lights on.
The new model comes with the added benefit of vertical and horizontal keystone and four corner geometric adjustment. This gives quick and accurate set-up, ideal for uneven walls or where a projector placement is at an angle from the screen. In addition, when the projector is not centred directly in front of the projection surface, the auto vertical keystone feature will detect and correct the distorted image with the touch of a button.
Kishan Mistry, Senior Product Manager at Optoma EMEA, said: "The unrivalled set-up convenience of our high brightness, ultra-short throw HD31UST creates an exceptional 100-inch Full HD experience that can be placed directly in front of a wall or screen for permanent use, tidied away after occasional use or taken around to a friend's house."
Its crisp white colour fits perfectly into any living space and it comes equipped with a built-in speaker that delivers powerful 16W audio, with exceptional sound quality. An audio output connector is also included, enabling connection to external sound systems.
Set-up is simple with a host of connection options including two HDMI and two VGA inputs for connection to any device. This projector also works with Optoma's WHD200 which is designed to stream video content wirelessly - up to 20 metres in any room.
It can be turned into a smart projector by connecting an HDMI dongle like the Google Chromecast™, Amazon Fire™ or Apple TV™ to play games, stream videos and share photos on the big screen at home.
The HD31UST can display true 3D content from almost any 3D source, including 3D Blu-ray players, 3D broadcasting and the latest generation games consoles. For 3D viewing, the Optoma ZD302 glasses (sold separately) use DLP® Link™ active shutter technology to automatically sync with the on-screen image.
For maximum contrast and brightness, it can be used with Optoma's 100" ambient light rejecting ALR100 screen. For more information on this screen visit: www.optoma.co.uk
